Privacy Policy

Elector ("we", "us") is a strategy game available on the web and as iOS and Android apps at playelector.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@playelector.com.

Information we collect

• Account data. We use Supabase for authentication. You can play anonymously, in which case we store only a randomly generated account identifier. If you choose to save your progress with a magic link, we also store the email address you provide.
• Gameplay data. Your profile, in-game Campaign Funds, unlocked items, and multiplayer lobby state, so your progress persists and online games stay in sync.
• Product analytics. We use PostHog to understand whether players reach a first game, finish games, return, use sharing, encounter checkout errors, or hit broad runtime failures. These events use account or anonymous IDs plus coarse app details such as platform and app version.
• Advertising data. We use Google AdMob to show optional rewarded ads. AdMob may process device identifiers, ad interactions, coarse diagnostics, and related advertising data to deliver, measure, and protect ads.
• Crash and error reporting. We use Sentry to collect and analyze app crashes and errors. This data helps us diagnose and fix problems. Crash reports may include stack traces, device type, app version, and operating system, but do not include personal information unless you voluntarily include it in error context.
• Technical data. Standard server and security logs (e.g. timestamps and coarse request metadata) used to operate the service and prevent abuse.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your real name (unless you email us), payment card details, precise location, your contacts, room codes, invite links, raw error text, or email addresses in product analytics. We do not record session replays.

How we use information

• To run the game and save your progress across sessions and devices.
• To power online multiplayer (matching players in a lobby and syncing turns).
• To improve onboarding, retention, sharing, purchases, and multiplayer reliability using aggregated product analytics.
• To offer optional rewarded ads that grant Campaign Funds after a completed ad view.
• To protect the service — rate limiting and CAPTCHA on sign-ins help prevent automated account farming and abuse.

How information is stored and shared

Account and gameplay data are stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase, on our behalf. Product analytics are processed by PostHog. Optional rewarded ads are served by Google AdMob, which may process advertising data under Google's policies. We do not sell your data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app: open Settings, then use Account > Delete account. This removes your data immediately. Full instructions are at playelector.com/delete-account. If you can’t access the app, email support@playelector.com from your account address and we will delete your account and data within 30 days.

Children

Elector is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Authentication, game-state authority, and reward calculations run server-side, and access to data is restricted with row-level security. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
